Deputy Head of College

Nicola Rosenblum commenced as Deputy Head of the National Security College in October 2021 on secondment from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). Nicola plays a key role in the strategic management of the College, driving its policy engagement and developing its partnerships with Australian government and other domestic and international partners.

Over almost two decades, Nicola has worked across the Australian Government on a broad range of foreign policy and national security issues, including US policy, international crisis and humanitarian response, irregular migration, narcotics and transnational crime. She has served as Australia’s High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam, as well as other diplomatic postings to Australia’s High Commission in Pakistan and Australia’s mission to the United Nations in Vienna. She has undertaken crisis response missions in Fiji and Cyprus. In addition to DFAT, Nicola has worked at the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, AusAID and the Joint Agency Taskforce for Operation Sovereign Borders.

Nicola has a Bachelor of Arts in Politics and Government with Honours from Griffith University, and a Graduate Certificate in Humanitarian Leadership from Deakin University.
