The Graduate Certificate of Climate Policy (6 months full-time, or part-time equivalent) offers you the opportunity to develop a cutting-edge understanding of climate policy, informed by research-led teaching delivered by some of the world’s leading researchers in climate policy.

You will explore fundamental concepts, contemporary issues, and leading practices for working in and researching climate policy. The program centres key issues in domestic and international climate policy such as emissions reduction and energy, and the effective communication of climate policy. Study of these issues is enriched with intersecting and adjacent policy areas including water, food, pollution, and disaster risk reduction.

Program Delivery

Our program delivery emphasises interactive and real-time engagement, ensuring that all graduate courses are available for both online and on-campus students. All learners, including those online, are required to attend scheduled classes. Participating in this combined model  promotes connection between online and in-person cohorts, allowing for a richer understanding and fostering networking opportunities. Delivery methods include live lectures via Zoom, pre-recorded content, dual delivery seminars and workshops for real-time interaction Attendance and participation are generally expected and may be assessed, providing a consistent and engaging educational experience for all students, regardless of their location.

 

Pathway to a Master degree

You may wish to consider extending your Graduate Certificate to complete a Master degree. Your 24 units of study in the Graduate Certificate of Climate Policy may count as credit towards the Master of Climate Change, Master of Public Policy or Master of Environmental Management and Development.
