Specialisations within the MPP
A Specialisation is a group courses taken within your MPP which are focused on a specific area of public policy. A Specialisation is not named on your Testamur but it is named on your official transcript.
In order to gain a Specialisation you must choose 24 units of electives within your MPP that coincide with those listed under the Specialisation requirements. Specialisations are optional - a Specialisation is not required for MPP degree completion. You can graduate with as many Specialisations as you meet the requirements for - but most students choose none, one or two.
If you've received credit from previous studies you may not have enough space within your degree to complete a Specialisation.
How do I nominate a Specialisation?
If you wish to work towards a Specialisation you must nominate it via Manage My Degree in ISIS - this tells us to look for that Specialisation when we are assessing you for graduation. You can nominate a Specialisation(s) at any stage until your last semester. You may find you have inadvertently qualified for a Specialisation without planning for it!
More information: ANU Current Students.
Click on the Specialisation below for Specialisation requirements. Courses common to two or more Specialisations will count towards both Specialisations. Please note, courses not taught by the Crawford School may not be available for online study.
