Dale Henderson served at the Federal Reserve Board from 1971-84 and from 1989-2009, ending his career there as a Senior Advisor in the Division of International Finance. In between, he was a Professor of Economics at Georgetown University. His teaching includes stints at Yale, Georgetown, and Cardiff Universities; the Universities of Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Copenhagen; Institutes in Vienna and Kiel; and a summer school in Bonn. As a visiting scholar, he has been at the Australian National University, the International Monetary Fund, the Austrian National Bank, the Swedish Riksbank, the Norges Bank, and the Bank of Japan. His research-support activities include cofounding the International Research Forum on Monetary Policy, a consortium of central banks and university centers. He is the coauthor of books on pollution control and monetary policy in open economies and has published chapters in conference volumes and articles in leading scholarly journals on monetary and fiscal policy, foreign exchange intervention, the gold market, and the analysis of productivity increases.

Professor Allan Layton, was appointed Professor in 1992. At QUT, he was Professor of Economics and Head of School of Economics and Public Policy (1992 – 1995) and Head of School of Economics and Finance (1995-2005). At the University of Southern Queensland he was Professor of Economics (2006-2018), Dean of the Faculty of Business and Law (2006 -2013), and held concurrent appointments at USQ during this time of Pro Vice-Chancellor (Partnerships), 2006–2010, and Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research Development), 2011–2012. He retired in 2018 and is an Emeritus Professor with USQ. His research and teaching interests spanned international business cycle analysis, financial and monetary economics, macroeconomic policy, provisioning of public infrastructure and applied econometrics. He is the author of the 1994 book Modern Australian Macroeconomics, co-author of the book Economics for Today (2002, 2005, 2008, 2011, 2015, 2018 and 2021), and has published widely in international academic journals in his areas of expertise.

He is a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences, the Econometric Society and the Journal of Econometrics; a Medallist Fellow of the Modelling and Simulation Society of Australia and New Zealand; has been made a Distinguished Fellow of the Economic Society of Australia and was awarded a Centenary Medal at the Centennial of Australian Federation.
